Informational Packet: download FAQs: WHO: Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors from the Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Northern Michigan Districts are invited. WHEN: We will arrive at Shepler’s Ferry Dock in Mackinaw City no later than 12:00 noon on Monday, May 27. Any chaperoned group can depart for the island at an earlier time if they wish. WHAT: You will enjoy overnight accommodations at the Grand Hotel – the world’s largest luxury summer hotel. The evening will include a get acquainted time, a fabulous dinner in the elegant dining room followed by an evening with Christian comedian, Michael Joiner. The next morning you will begin your day with breakfast at the Grand, and spend your day discovering whatever interests you on the Island in the company of your friends. Optional activities at extra cost to you include horseback riding, bicycling, carriage tours, golf, tennis and tours of historic Fort Mackinac, along with dozens of shops to explore. COST: $154.00 per person. This includes: Round trip ferry ride to the Island, dinner Monday night, entrance to the theater, overnight lodging, breakfast Tuesday morning, all gratuities and baggage handling. You may also want to bring extra money for optional activities, souvenirs, fudge, etc. DRESS: Wear good, casual clothes (shoes and shirt must be worn in the hotel at all times, bring appropriate cover-up if you use the pool, etc.). After 6:00 PM, gentlemen must wear a coat and tie, and ladies must wear a dress or suit. This is a hotel rule! Pack all clothes in suitcases or garment bags only to insure their protection as porters will transport your luggage from the dock to your hotel room and it will be out of your sight for some time. LUGGAGE: IMPORTANT: Before arriving at Shepler’s Ferry Dock please make sure that you tag your luggage appropriately. You must tag each piece of luggage with your name on it; otherwise your luggage will not arrive at your specific room. You will receive your tags ahead of time, through the mail. REGISTRATION: Registrations must be post-marked by Friday, April 4, 2008. Anyone registering after this date will be charged a $15.00 late fee. Absolutely no registrations will be accepted after Friday, April 18, 2008. Be sure to fill out the registration form completely (both teens and adult sponsors). Incomplete Registrations may result in a late fee. All districts must mail their registrations to: Kelly Downs, 13589 Green Prairie Street, Vicksburg, MI 49097.
